TENDERING PROCESS
Generally, purchasing is conducted via an annual tendering process.
Invitation to Tender extends from May 1st and closes:
Pharmaceuticals - after three (3) weeks |

Non-Pharmaceuticals - after five (5) weeks |

Pharmaceuticals:
ALL drugs MUST be registered with the Chemistry, Food and Drug Division of the Ministry of Health, Trinidad and Tobago. Drugs can be either a "recognised brand" or a "generic".
Items to be purchased are advertised by generic nomenclature. Any drug to be purchased must appear on the Ministry of Health's Formulary.
The Formulary categorizes each drug as either "Vital", "Essential" or "Necessary".

Tender Reports:
The results of the tenders are published toward the end of September, ahead of the procurement cycle – October to September.
The following reports are made available:

spac Tender Awards – A compilation of the successful bids
