The National Insurance Board of Trinidad and Tobago (NIBTT) wishes to announce that starting Friday 1st December 2023, an employer who qualifies for a Certificate of Compliance, will receive a certificate valid for 3 months from the date it is issued.

Chairman of the NIBTT, Mr. Patrick Ferreira, stated, “the NIBTT is pleased to be responsive to the needs of the business community, as we have heard your repeated requests to extend the validity period for the Certificate of Compliance. The 1-month allocation presented challenges to employers engaged in the OPR registration process, as well as, for those who frequently tender for jobs. The Board of the NIBTT, supported by management, took the decision to extend the validity period for the Certificate of Compliance as this will bring NIBTT into a more customer-oriented space. I want to assure employers that we heard the plea of the business community, and we are making this move to a 3-month validity period of the Certificate, as a direct response to these requests.”

Executive Director of the NIBTT, Ms. Niala Persad-Poliah, expressed, “we understand the challenges faced by employers who submit monthly applications to access the Certificate of Compliance. For employers who qualify to receive a Certificate of Compliance, a 3-month Certificate will reduce the need to visit the NIBTT on a monthly basis from December 1st 2023.”

Employers wishing to obtain a Certificate of Compliance from the NIBTT should email a completed NI 200 form to compliancecertificate@nibtt.net
